Department of Finance Agree Upon 3G Frequency Price 160 M

The Department of Finance (Depkeu) agreed upon the price of 3G license as regulated in Menkominfo Decree No. 7/2D06 on Regulation on the Usage of 2.1 GHz Radio Frequency. According to Heru Sutadi (the member of BRTI), Depkeu's decision had strengthened the position of Depkominfo to set the license price according to the lowest price decided on the first tender, which was 160 billion rupiah. All 3G license holders such as Telkomsel, Excelcomindo Pratama, Indosat, Hutchinson CP and Natrindo Telepon Seluler had proposed for bidding price. The decision of The Department of Communication and Information (Depkominfo) to decline BlackBerry certifcation license last month had caused the import of all BlackBerry products to Indonesia halted. Distributors thus only depended upon their stocks. There had been so far four Blackberry distributors in Indonesia, namely Indosat, Excelcomindo Pratama(XL), Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) and Natrindo Telepon Seluler (NTS). Natrindo had just joined the club on 10 June 2009. New operators intending to market BlackBerry also faced difficulties. Telkom's directors and commissaries could not enjoy full bonus. Tantiem for state owned telecommunication bosses was reduced 27% from that of the previous year due to Telkom's decreasing performance last year. Experts and telecommunication businessmen said that the withdrawal of Telkom and Telkomsel from the participation of packet 1 & 2 universal service obligation (USO) tender was partly due to the government's fault. Telkom to sign loan deal worth US$200m

Indosat Not Depend on International Direct Dial

Indosat revenue from international Direct Dial (SLI) dropped continually since the company established in 1967. In the beginning, 100 percent Indosat revenue came from SLI. Nowadays, SLI contributes only below ten percent to total Indosat revenue, while 90 percent comes up from cellular and multi media. "To keep standing Indosat works to explore innovation.
