Profit Drop Due to Exchange Rate Difference

Telkom's directors and commissaries could not enjoy full bonus. Tantiem for state owned telecommunication bosses was reduced 27% from that of the previous year due to Telkom's decreasing performance last year. Not only Telkom that sufferred such a loss, Indosat's nettprofit also fell into 1,878 trillion in 2008 from the previous 2,042 trillion in 2007. The reason was the same, exchange rate difference. Worse, Excelcomindo Pratama sufferred loss of 15,109 billion last year. In addition, Bakrie Telecom's profit also dropped into 136,812 billion in 2008 from the previous 144,268 billion in 2007. / Tempo Mag, pg 116
