PT Telkom looks for new market segment, i.e. data business or new wave. Telkomsel contribution was 40% on PT Telkom income in 2008. While data business contribution stayed at 10% lower. But data business growth was unbelievably high by 73% in first quarter 2009. Thus, Telkom aim to push this new business. Meanwhile, Danareksa Sekuritas analyst, Chandra Pasaribu considered result of data business may only possible to look at after five years. ‘Telkom may depend on Telkomsel, the only GSM operator to grow in first quarter 2009,’ mentioned Chandra.
